ENGINE

Since 96, the car is on it's third.... Stock, Supercharged 383 & budget home built 350

This page will address the current configuration, the 350 c.i. LT2.5. I call it that as it was put together from odds and ends. Original LT1 block, LT4 crank, rods and pistons (never been under power before this build) Lunati cam, Modern Musclecar ported heads and the stock LT1 intake manifold. With the help of a good friend & co-worker, Paul Roswell, the LT2.5 began it's life at work, assembled after hours then installed at Paul's house....duly named Area 51 Performance.

At some point, getting it done best, may be doing it yourself. This motor was the outcome of a 383 blower motor gone bad. Once all confidence in the 383 was gone, looking around the shop found me with my original block, the guts from a brand new LT4 long block and a spare cam. So...time to build a new motor.......
For an in depth LT4 to LT1 comparison, see the Tech section in the navigation graphic
Cam Specs: 232º - 242º duration; 114º separation from Lunati. With 1.6 Pro Magnum rockers lift is .560" Intake, .577" Exhaust. Lobe profile allows this cam to make power to 6800 rpm. Dyno tested at 385 r.w.h.p. ...... (no chemical additives)
LT4 Extreme timing chain set, 58mm Holley throttle body (intake ported to match) 36# SVO injectors, ETG pyrometers in each of the Hooker header tubes. See various other pages here for the performance results of this build up.

Special thanks  to Paul Roswell for showing me how to assemble the motor and for using his garage for the swap
